Yin Yoga

This class focuses on stimulating the connective tissue by holding postures in a reclined or seated position for 3-5 minutes.  Yin Yoga is a still and passive practice.  Physically, we work the space between our knees and navel, the hips, pelvis and spine, to create space and mobility in our tightest areas.  Energetically, we open the body’s meridian system to allow the continuous flow of Qi (chi).  Psychologically, we practice being, allowing and contentment to balance our active, stressful yang lives.  This class is suitable for all levels.

Intermediate

Dive deeper into a physical practice that explores more complex variations and deeper expressions of asana.  An intermediate/advanced practitioner is one who can navigate through their practice with intelligence and self-awareness.  You do not need to be able to perform advanced poses to participate.  This class is a combination of flow and workshop as we deliberately move toward a peak posture or series of postures in a supportive setting.

Restorative Yoga

Restorative Yoga is the practice of allowing the body to rest and deeply relax, using props to support the body in restful postures.  This therapeutic practice restores the central nervous system and is beneficial for stress relief, improved digestion, reduction of blood pressure, muscular tension, insomnia and fatigue.  Appropriate for all levels, including pre and post-natal. *Pre-registration necessary to attend this class.

Yoga for Runners

As runners, we are used to striving and working hard to achieve the goals we set for ourselves. We often take that approach into all aspects of cross training; including the yoga mat.  This class will work on meditation techniques that focus on learning to slow down and listen.  We will move the body through postures that complement the repetitive movements of putting one foot in front of the other, and pay careful attention to nourishing and restoring the body.   Open to all levels of runners and athletes.
